We’ve heard Nokia express their intent on supporting the LTE standard, and now, both LG and Samsung have hopped on-board the LTE bandwagon as well.

lte-logoIn fact, according to DigiTimes, we can expect LTE-capable handsets to be released by both companies sometime next year. Nokia will most likely release theirs in 2010 as well. HTC, on the other hand, is expected to come out with one in the first half of 2011.

With all three major mobile carriers in Canada having already expressed their plans of implementing an LTE-based 4G network and several carriers such as Verizon and MetroPCS in the US choosing the same route as well, it’s somewhat expected that most handsets makers will opt to go with LTE as opposed to WiMax. This may have little significance for the here and now, but it does give us an idea who is supporting LTE and who will likely be the first ones out of the gate with a new LTE-capable handset.
