Telus Mobility and Nextel announced today that they have reached an agreement to extend their push-to-talk (PTT) walkie-talkie service.
That means Mike clients can now connect with Nextel subscribers (or other Mike users) across Canada and the United States. For example, a Mike subscriber in Calgary can have a walkie-talkie conversation with a Nextel subscriber in Los Angeles. Plus, data services such as email and web browsing will now work cross-border.
Additionally, Nextel announced their subscribers will have direct-connect access between Brazil, Argentina and Peru.
