Love of text messaging has hit record levels across the pond in the UK where over 2.1 billion messages were sent in March. That’s up 25% from last year – an astonishing 68 million per day!
Now just for fun lets imagine these messages averaged 30 characters in length and took 20 seconds each to type out.
- 2.1 billion messages x 20 seconds each = 42 billion seconds
- 42 billion seconds / 60 seconds per minute = 700 million minutes
- 700 million minutes / 60 minutes per hour = 11,666,667 hours
- 11,666,667 hours / 8 man hours per day = 1,458,333 working days
So there you have it – the Brits spent approx. 1,458,333 working days sending text messages in the month of March. Is text messaging the new crack?
