Amico Brava Android phone debuts at CTIA

Here’s a sighting of a new Android phone at CTIA. This one’s courtesy of Amico, a not so well-known company taking advantage of the open-source clause that comes with the Open Handset Alliance’s Android mobile operating system.

Sure, the Brava name is a bit questionable and closely borders on copyright infringement, but the rest of its specs are pretty decent for a new comer. This Amico Brava Android phone comes with a 3-inch resistive touchscreen WQVGA display, 3-megapixel camera, and runs on a Marvell 624MHz processor. Sadly it only supports EDGE connectivity. For more pics, you can check out Engadget’s photo gallery. Price and availability were not mentioned.

The Amica Brava appears to be evidence that Google’s decision to come release a open-source mobile OS has been beneficial to the industry as a whole by providing small players with a very capable and competitive piece of software which they can equip their phones with. We say brava bravo to that!
