Goolge Mobile app with Voice now available for BlackBerry phones

The Google Mobile app with Voice support first hit the iPhone sometime in November last year, and now, it’s also available on BlackBerry phones as well.

So, if you want to start searching Google hands-free, just head on over to http://m.google.com on your BlackBerry phone to download this new iteration of Google Mobile now. Sadly though, the BlackBerry Storm isn’t supported yet so you Storm users out there will have to wait a couple of months more for an appropriate version to be released. Likewise, those still using operating system software prior to OS 4.2 won’t be able to take advantage of this new voice feature.

With the impending launch of RIM’s BlackBerry App World and the availability of such apps as this one, and Apple’s mighty iPhone OS 3.0 roll out happening this summer, the iPhone and BlackBerry are slowly but surely headed towards a more level playing field. Of course, as for the here and now, RIM still has the edge in over-all sales over the iPhone, but that might soon change once iPhone firmware 3.0 is released.
