Out goes Christopher Galvin, grandson of Motorola founder Paul Galvin. In comes Ed Zander. Ed Who? Ed Zander – former President of Sun Microsystems. After 3 years of dismal results and the elimination of 60,000 employees, Motorola thinks Ed is the guy Motorola needs.
For a respectable $5 million (est.) a year in salary and stock, Zander will get the chance to work closely with Microsoft, something he definitely didn’t get to do while at Sun!
