The iPhone used to be the only mobile phone that featured a native YouTube app, but now, owners of S60 3rd edition–based phones can download a similar app for their phone as well.

The interface is different from the iPhone version, but this new iteration still provides users with an easy to use interface that let’s you get your daily fix of viral videos even when you’re on the go. While this version is limited to S60 3rd edition phones only, it has also been proven to work on the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic albeit lacking text input. Nokia is the usual brand associated with the S60 OS, but several Samsung phones run on this OS as well. This latest development will certainly make YouTube more accessible to a wider mobile audience.

So, if you’ve got an S60 3rd edition phone such as a Nokia N85, just point your phone’s internet browser to m.youtube.com to download it directly to your mobile phone. The YouTube service is currently available to the US, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, but regardless of where you are, you can download this app right now and just select one of the countries above when prompted for your location.
