Early Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone owners in the US might have lucked out getting a properly working unit, but the good news is that you no longer have to head on over to a flagship store to get it replaced.
Nokia USA has released firmware 20.2.014 for the 5800 XpressMusic, and apparently, it fixes the 3G connection issues that have plagued the first batch of phones. We’re not sure yet if this fix indeed works on all concerned units, but hey, it’s at least worth a try since you can perform the entire task at the comfort of your own home in less than an hour.
Just remember to back-up all the data on your Nokia 5800 XpressMusic before updating. After you’re done, we’d gladly appreciate it if you share your experience with this new firmware in our comments section below.
