Virgin Mobile lowers price of BlackBerry Curve 8330 to $39.99

The price hike of Virgin Mobile isn’t exactly welcome news, but their $39.99 BlackBerry Curve 8330 might be the thing to turn that frown upside down into a smile.

Of course, you’d have to sign up for a 3-yr contract with a BlackBerry Bundle plan, but hey, it’s the best deal available right now for the BlackBerry Curve 8330. Telus, Bell and Rogers (Curve 8320) are all currently selling theirs for $99.99. Virgin Mobile initially increased the price of their BlackBerry Curve 8330 to $79.99, but since they also decided to increase the price on their plans recently, lowering the price of the handset was probably the best alternative so as not to deter more subscribers.

So, if you’re looking to score yourself a BlackBerry Curve 8330, Virgin Mobile has the best offer right now. However, do the math first. The handset price might be the lowest in the market, but their monthly rates have gone up so you might end up paying for the same amount on a completely different network with a better plan more suited to your needs.

UPDATE: It seems that Virgin Mobile has regained their senses and is now offering the BlackBerry Curve 8330 for $99.99 on a 3-yr contract similar to the rest of the pack. Oh well, it was good while it lasted.

Virgin Mobile Canada has increased the price on the Blackberry 8330 back to $99. It’s been like this for a while. Going to take the above ad to the local rep though and see if they’ll do a deal.
