<description>[...] In an unexpected new twist, Cydia has planning to open an app store that will offer paid apps. For the most part, Cydia has been a repository of free apps for jailbroken iPhones, and while it has lured a lot of owners to the jailbreaking front, it had very little to offer enterprising app developers. Now, with this latest move, Cydia can now offer developers a source of revenue especially for those innovative enough to churn out hit apps, but can’t seem to pass Apple’s rigorous approval process. Of course, one thing going against Cydia is that you’ll have to undergo the tedious process of jailbreaking your iPhone every time a new firmware update is released. However, if they can manage to come out with a very enticing collection of apps that can easily beat whatever Apple is offering over at their side of the fence, then we’re pretty optimistic of Cydia’s chances in rivaling the Apple App Store. <description>[...] We still don’t know when it will officially open its doors to consumers, but if you want to be one of the first to know when it does, you can register now for the BlackBerry App World. The name certainly sounds intimidating, but we’ll wait for their first year of app sales to come out first before we even consider this as a serious threat to Apple’s pioneering App Store.
