We reported earlier that the Windows Mobile OS isn’t exactly a permanent fixture in the XPERIA line, and now, it seems that the manufacturer might also be changed. The XPERIA X1 is manufactured by HTC for Sony Ericsson, but the next XPERIA phone might be built by another company altogether if rumors circulating the internet are true. Mobinnova has been name-dropped as a possibility to take over the production duties from HTC though we have yet to receive confirmation that HTC has indeed gotten the boot.

We’ll probably get more details on this matter as the months go by. As for the here and now, Sony Ericsson has their own set of problems to contend with as they have yet to get their XPERIA X1 out the door in the US of A.
