Those who have been patiently waiting for an iPhone 3G unlock tool to become available will have a reason to rejoice as the iPhone Dev Team has just announced that they’re planning to release one by New Year’s Eve.
Yes, the long wait is finally over, but they do note that the version that they will be releasing only works on jailbroken iPhones with a 2.11.07 or earlier baseband. They are also planning to release a live video demo before Christmas. You can check for exact release date updates on their blog page. Likewise, they have listed possible fixes for the OS X 10.5.6 update, but the safest and probably easiest remedy is to just use a USB hub.
The end of 2008 not only marks the end of a very fruitful and colorful year for Apple and their beloved iPhone, but more importantly, now also signals the beginning of a whole new world of possibilities for the unlocked iPhone 3G.
