BlackBerry 8900 Curve now Officially on Rogers

So I guess part of the rumored Rogers-Fido BlackBerry roll out for December is true as Rogers has now officially announced the BlackBerry 8900 Curve. This smaller twin of the BlackBerry Bold is retailing for $449.99 on a 3-yr contract, $499.99 on 2-yrs, and $549.99 for a single year/monthly on a voice and data plan. If you’re planning to get only either voice or data, it’ll cost $499.99, $524.99 and $549.99 on a 3-yr, 2-yr, and 1-yr/monthly contract respectively. Contract-free price of the phone also known as the Javelin is $599.99.

For those who may have forgotten what this new RIM comes with, the BlackBerry 8900 Curve features a 2.4-inch HVGA 480×360 display, 3.2-megapixel camera with auto focus, flash, video and zoom capabilities, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, UMA (Rogers Talkspot), and is one of the thinnest BlackBerry phones to date (109×60x13.5mmm).

This baby was rumored to be released in the Q1 2009, but hey, we certainly don’t mind a change of plans especially if it’s released much earlier than expected. If the Storm could get released this month as well, then December will surely be a merry month for BlackBerry aficionados across the nation.
