Mio to release 3.5G-capable GPS Touchscreen Phone in Q1 2009

Unlike Nokia and Samsung, Mio doesn’t exactly release new models every other month. But alas, it looks like a new Mio model is on its way.

According to DigiTimes, Mio is coming out with the first 3.5G capable touchscreen GPS phone next year. IQualcomm is said to be the provider of the 3.5G chipset and it will come loaded with the Spirit touch UI and a 3.2-megapixel camera. No word on its exact release date and pricing.

While the iPhone and other similar devices also boast of GPS capabilities, I’m sure those who have used Mio in the past can clearly attest to its difference in overall GPS functionality as opposed to the other brands.
