Motorola Buyers Forbidden to sell 2nd-hand Aura phones on eBay?

Motorola is trying their hand at the luxury segment of the phone market with their brand new Aura. Sure, it’s got the looks and unimpressive spec sheet to pass for a Vertu wannabe, but it seems that they really want the Aura to an exclusive item.

To attain this goal, an unnamed source has revealed that buyers will have to sign a contract agreeing that, if they ever deem it necessary to sell the Aura, they must sell it back to Motorola as opposed to putting it up for sale on eBay. That is a truly ridiculous idea if you ask me. For one, who in their right mind would buy such an expensive phone only to sell it later on on eBay? Unless it’s a total piece of crap, I highly doubt anyone will put it up for auction.

We could be wrong, but this smells real bad of a PR stunt. How about you guys, what’s your take on this supposed contract?
