For those wondering how the new HTC Touch HD will stack up against the iPhone, here are some juicy photos of a pre-release of HTC’s big daddy Touch HD side-by-side with Apple’s iPhone 3G.
As you can see, without going into much detail regarding its specs, the Touch HD definitely has some plus points on its side. It’s got a brighter display, and despite the lack of a flash, it manages to perform well in ambient lighting as opposed to the iPhone.
Of course, the iPhone still reigns supreme in terms of thickness as it’s a lot slimmer than the HD albeit being a tad longer and wider. However, with better features, I’m willing to overlook that slight disadvantage.
How about you? Has HTC got you convinced with the Touch HD, or are you still waiting for a better device to come out in the next couple of months?

there is no way the iPhone is that different when I comes to the screen brightness – did you turn up the brigtness on the iPhone before you made such a comparison – I don’t think so – the iPhone has the best screen and 2 mp camera I have seen ever! This look like a pretty weak comparison.
Fanboys like you are what gives us iPhone owners a bad name, this phone clearly has a brighter screen and the 5mp camera is leagues ahead. I do think my iphone looks better though, it just seems to have that extra level of high quality.
However, as for everything else, it seems the next gen iPhone has alot of catching up to do, as this phone seems to be leagues ahead in terms of raw specs.. I think i’ll be trading mine in for this when its released.
I think the comparison is very much fair, I’ve owned Iphone and the screen is not too impresivley vibrant; Nokia n96 has a more brighter screen than Iphone. The 2MP camera on Iphone is very reasonable but not as good as some Nokia N-Series phones with 2MP cameras such as, Nokia N90/N92. htc tocuh HD looks quite impressive but I’ll wait till Nokia N97 comes out.
Wow! The Specs on this are sweet! 1Ghz Processor!!! 512mb of memory and more! Windows Mobile and a phone!
After playing with the I-phone, and the Hi-phone (joke), and especially the PPC Dell Axim X51v (discontinued due to no phone!) which was the fastest PPC at 624mhz and I still own one today. Check kijiji.ca it’s up for sale today!!!!
My cousin picked up a Sony Xperia X1a. Although a bit small for my likin’ I thought ‘it’ was impressive until my discovery of the HTC Touch HD2, after reviewing some of the Nokia models.
In my opinion the I-phone is like comparing a Pontiac Sunfire to a G6 or Chevy Cobalt.
I-phone is left in the dust with the HD2 and for that matter – the HD first generation.
The HD and especially the HD2 offer an excellent medium to stay mobile at reduced costs by providing the power to have within the palm of our hand then internet; doorway to the universe! The Omnipotent.
