While the unlimited music download service is yet to be confirmed, Sony Ericsson has made the G705 official. It’s too bad though that it won’t make it in time for Christmas in the US as it is expected to arrive early 2009 with the price yet to be determined. For those residing in Asia and Europe the news is better as the G705 hits the market starting next month.
The Sony Ericsson G705 comes with a 2.4-inch TFT display with auto-rotation, 3.2-megapixel camera with flash, 3G/HSDPA, Bluetooth, WiFi, A-GPS, FM radio, full HTML browser, and Java-based OS. It’ll also feature support for Exchange ActiveSync for email, and shortcut keys for Google services and YouTube.
Pretty neat stuff so far, but we’re a bit curious how the new Java OS will work as opposed to the more popular Symbian UIQ. Add the fact that there is already a ton of software available for Symbian, and the choice to go Java might be the G705’s downfall. However, if you’re not looking at installing a bunch of apps on it, it’s a pretty decent phone worth consideration.
