i-mate Hummer: Smartphone built for the great outdoors

We’re not quite sure if the name has any relation to the vehicle or not, but we know this much, i-mate is set to release a new smartphone named Hummer. It features a full QWERY keypad and as you can see in the picture, it looks like a brute just like its namesake automobile. However, the design choice does have its own purpose as it’s also water-resistant and has a metal-alloy-screwed chassis for extra protection.

Other features include a 2.5-inch screen, HSDPA/UMTS, WiFi, 2-megapixel camera, and will most likely run on Windows Mobile 6.1. No pricing, release date or carrier information is available at the moment.

It might not look as sleek and polished as the Blackberry Bold, but with its ruggedized exterior, this is the ideal smartphone to recommend for those who like to rough it up in the wild.
