Verizon is no. 1!
That’s according to the J.D. Power and Associates semi-annual Wireless Call Quality Performance Study and as far as 22,000 wireless customers are concerned. Those were the number of people that took part in the survey and it appears that there is a resounding agreement as to who ranks as numero uno in the US. Below are the different categories and the top performers in each area:
- Northeast Region: Verizon Wireless ranks highest in the region.
- Mid-Atlantic Region: Verizon Wireless ranks highest for the eighth consecutive time.
- Southeast Region: Alltel ranks highest in the region.
- North Central Region: U.S. Cellular and Alltel are tie at the top spot.
- Southwest Region: Sprint Nextel and Verizon Wireless tie to rank highest in the region.
- West Region: Verizon Wireless ranks highest in the region.
Verizon is clearly the dominant winner in most of the categories with Alltel winning in two regions. Interestingly enough, Alltel is already in the process of being acquired by Verizon. The results of this can serve as testament to the merger as it looks like a win-win situation of sorts as two of the most highly regarded telecoms in the nation become one. That is unless the regulatory board has something to say about it, but once they get the go signal for the unification, then Verizon can finally officially say that they are the best and largest wireless provider in the USA.
Note: Verizon also came out on top in J.D.’s wireless customer service survey.
