Nokia has just released firmware update v30.0.015 for the N95-1. Which N95 is this? This is the regular non-8GB N95 version. While the new firmware for the N95-1 is now available already the Nokia Software Updater, those who have an N95 8GB phone can have their unit updated through a Nokia Service Center.
Unfortunately, neither method is applicable for North American N95 units. It’s real bummer, right? While the rest of the N95-using community can get their share of enhancements, North American users are left waiting for their turn on the update carousel. Oh well, patience, as they say, is a virtue.
For those who managed to snag their N95 from Europe, Asia or elsewhere in the world, you can expect the following improved features in your beloved phone:
- Faster start-up time of 15-16 seconds
- Built-in auto-rotate works
- Camera: color capture improved
- New Share Online icon added
- Maps 2.0.
So if you qualify for this update, I don’t see any reason why you shouldn’t download and install firmware 30.0.015 now.
