Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) and Senator Olympia Snowe (R-MN) have co-sponsored the Mobile Wireless Tax Reform Act of 2008 and, if passed, would declare a five year moratorium on the ridiculous rates passed on to US cell phone users.
A little relief, in other words. It doesn’t lower or raise the current, breath deep, 15.9% taxes currently stacked onto a typical post paid cell phone bill, but it would at least freeze further increases.
Hope springs eternal.
