Will mobile subscribers want to listen to long audio tracks such as audio books and newspapers using the minutes provided on their wireless service plans?
While busy rolling out its next-generation wireless services, AT&T Wireless also is testing new content applications that its customers will be able to use on the upgraded networks, including automated downloads of serialized audio books, audio versions of popular newspapers and magazines, and custom business content.
The downloads will be sent to consumers’ mobile phones and other devices under a variety of subscription plans, once the new networks are in place.
