Cyclone Disposable Cell Phone Set For Launch

North American wireless operators have begun receiving products based on Qualcomm’s third-generation CDMA2000 1X chipset, the company announced today.

Orlando, FL-based New Horizons Technologies International says it will launch what it claims is the first disposable cell phone able to make and recieve calls.

The Cyclone,” along with making a receiving calls, can also be recycled and recharged. The phone holds 60 minutes of nationwide airtime, after which additional airtime cane be purchased or the phone recycled. The phone is set to retail for $40, according to the
company. Specific locations and participating carriers were not announced.”
