Fashionable yet functional is the outlook for the next generation mobile phones, according to the technology designers of tomorrow.

Third-year RMIT industrial design students have devised concept phones to take advantage of third-generation (3G) high-speed mobile phone networks, which are expected to arrive in Australia this year. Telecommunications developer Ericsson Australia worked closely with students to assist in the development of individual projects as part of their studies. Ericsson mentors provided briefings on topics such as 3G technology, applications and markets trends.
