Palm’s most popular handset and probably its savior is now available without a contract for only $299. This is $200 more than the locked version but if you can’t leave your provider for one reason or another and really desire a Centro, the price isn’t too bad.
The Centro is quite a surprise for Palm. Despite its smallish QWERTY keyboard and same-ol’-same-ol’ operating system, it has broken through the tough cellphone market and helped Palm maybe regain its confidence.
The unlocked Centro is offered only in white.
