Nokia’s future plan is not to go head to head with Apple in the high-end touchscreen phone market. Instead, the number one handset manufacturer intends to surround the iPhone with touch screen Nokia phones that will cater to all mobile demographics.
“Currently, the market for touchscreen products is a niche market. We always aim for a situation where we can cover all the segments with all the options,” Vanjoki, Senior Vice President of Nokia Markets, said.
“We will introduce products from the very low segment to the highest one featuring this type of functionality.”
With the iPhone going for free in some markets, i wonder what Nokia means.
