Apple Announcing iPhone 3G June 9

iPhone 3G June 29

Two Citi analysts believe that Apple will announce the new iPhone on June 9 at the WWDC. Along with the 3G version of the iPhone will be a fresh lineup of Apple products including new MacBooks and iPods. There has also been rumors about an entire entire lineup of iPhones that are going to be released in orderly fashion this year and beyond.

Even better news for some people who wouldn’t mind 2.5G connectivity this late in the decade: the original iPhone will have another price cut. All models will sell between US$299 and $349. Remember, this is unofficial and, for all intents and purposes, a figment of the Citi analysts imaginations, but…

Update: The Citi analysts were close but not bang on. There were not Macbooks or iPods at the June 9 WWDC but Apple did have a new iPhone up its sleeve. The 3G iPhone will be available July 11th for $199 and $299 with contract.
