Engadget finds it very interesting that a rumor has spread about Apple finally giving up on their revenue-sharing business model for the iPhone, at least for Italy. La Repubblica, a very respected publication in Italy has stated that Apple has agreed with Telecom Italy that the latter may keep all revenues from iPhone subscribers for itself. It’s quite a lovely piece of rumor, don’t you think? Engadget tried getting Telecom Italia’s side but as usual for rumors that have more than a grain of truth in it, the principal refused to make a comment.
Update: This rumor proved to be true. Apple’s revenue share has gone away with the release of a 3G iPhone.
