Chute, a concept phone that is partially made of bamboo, has competition from designer Gert-Jan van Breugel. Simply called Bamboo, the material for the case is 100% bio-degradable bamboo and bio-plastic combination. Simply remove the antenna, battery and print board and put the rest of the cell phone in compost and in a matter of weeks the phone will have completely decomposed.
The Bamboo Degradable Phone reduces CO2 usage in manufacturing. The phone can also be recharged using “muscle power.” You save in power and the material comes from fast-growing plant. Hope they make this soon.
