Garmin does an Apple when it dubbed its GPS-equipped mobile phone. Apparently “Nuvifone” infringes on the Nuvio Corp’s trademark. Nuvio Corp is an internet phone provider, much like Linksys’s Iphone is.
Nuvio makes a point that “[Their] customers commonly refer to our service as the Nuvio phone.” Nuvio phone and Nuvifone do not sound that far apart. I mean if you are wont to omitting rounded vowels, no one will be able to tell which phone you are talking about. “You mean the GPS phone or… ” I’m sure you get my meaning.
