Samsung to go After Nokia’s Low-End Market

Samsung low-end marketSamsung has announced its intentions to go after the low-end cellphone market. The current world number two cellphone manufacturer will compete directly with Nokia releasing several models for under $30.

Unofficially dubbed “ultra-low” phones, perhaps in reference to Samsung’s high-end Ultra models. Samsung spokesman Kim Tae-hoon officially pegged the low-end Samsung phones a lottle pricier at $40 to $50, which will be marketed to developing countries. Analysts are skeptical about Samsung’s market strategy claiming the manufacturer are hurting with profit margins at below 10% on the telecom side.

Samsung phones average at $150 compared to $120 of Nokia phones.
