If you’re a traveler and a little paranoid about cell phone signals (will it work in the middle of the Sahara?) you might want to wish Yanko design luck in their newest concept. The Freedom Phone was designed by Vadim Kibardin. It’s a slim prepaid phone that you can load up in any country you go to. Once you land, buy 60, 100 or 200 minutes worth of calls. No more roaming charges.
Whatever you think of prepaid SIM-free calling for travelers, the Freedom Phone’s design is a great idea. It’s one of those objects in your purse or rucksack that you can forget for months until that day you need it. Hopefully, the prepaid call credits do not have an expiration date.
