Nokia’s all-in-one media media portal Ovi will also be open to Apple if the iPhone maker wishes to use Nokia’s content. “In Finnish, Ovi means door. And our door is open. Of course, Apple can get into our portal. We even invite (Apple Inc chief executive) Steve Jobs to do so,” Nokia’s Anssi Vanjoki says.
Apple is a company known for doing everything on its own and being closed to third-party providers. Since Apple joined the handset industry launching the iPhone on June 29 2007, industry watchers have pitted it with the dominant brand Nokia. Ovi includes Nokia’s Online Music Store (an iTunes rival launched recently), Nokia’s N-Gage and Nokia Maps.
