Japanese Hokuto system has a brilliant idea that will help curb dangerous materials from old cellphones and they are doing it now. Some handset parts can be reused to make pocket PCs called DView. This is a very interesting development in environmentally sound manufacturing. If DView works, bigger companies may follow suit.
DView is powered by ARM7TDMI Core (CLOCK Max81MHz) with 256 MB of RAM and 64 MB of ROM. It has a 2.2-inch QVGA screen, which can rotate, fade in and fade out and supporting 32k colors. Other specs include a 16-bit stereo soundcard and an expansion board for USB and LAN.
