Google is thinking of killing not just the iPhone but also AT&T as it courts Verizon to have its applications on the wireless company’s phones. Verizon is playing it coy, of course, admitting it is talking to Google and other companies as well with regards to future business models.
Google may be launching its GPhone, which will host Google’s software and will be incurring revenues for Google via advertising. Google will compete directly with Microsoft, which tells us the Google software will offer smartphone technology as well as application goodies that Google is famous for like Web browsing. Google’s software will be open for apps developers. If you know the Web, then you know Google’s power and Verizon should be keen enough to let Google in.
