O2 iPhone to Hit Britain November 9

The Apple iPhone will be exclusively distributed to British consumers by O2. The iPhone will cost Brits £269 with a choice of £35, £45 and £55 plans. The price of the phone has been adjusted upward to fit the British market, which means British users will be paying over $150 more than US users.

Carphone Warehouse is also part of the agreement, contributing 1300 stores around the U.K. for the distribution of Apple’s phone. Reaction to the announcement and pricing is largely favorable. Brits normally pay a higher price on consumer goods than their counterparts across the Atlantic.
