If you’re thinking AT&T is going to keep its hands off the online music store business, you’re gravely mistaken. A month after it launched iPhone, which, mind you, is activated by iTunes, AT&T is launching its own music store. Called eMusic Mobile, the store offeres DRM-free music downloads priced at $7.49 for five downloads. It sounds weird. AT&T’s new music store doesn’t seem to be interested in selling music at all. Only Samsung A717, Samsung A727, Nokia N75, and Samsung Sync support the program needed to browse and purchase music from the store.
At&T’s store will start selling over 2.7 million songs, the biggest online store operated by a wireless provider.
