What will make Motorola standout in the future handset market. Why, it’s got to be media. Moto is doing a project with Microvision, which is known for its pico pointers, for a phone that can project a 854 x 480-pixel display.
By projecting content displayed on the device screen onto a wall, object or even a curved surface, mobile users could easily share Websites or multimedia applications such as movies, personal videos, mobile TV, photographs and presentations with friends or business colleagues.
The plan has been exciting enough to warrant a site of it’s own and a project name: PicoP. One of the many problems that is facing the site is power management. Could a projector phone be used viably like a regular cell phone that is also used to make calls?
