The Q2 financial results have revealed that Samsung has outstripped Motorola to take the number 2 spot in the list of cell phone manufacturers. This fact has been expected since the beginning of this year, and based on the lackluster release of Moto’s RAZR2, we can assume that Moto has embraced the number 3 spot. Nokia is comfortable in number 1 at $35%.

Samsung reports that it has shipped 37.4 million handsets in Q2, while Moto announced between 35-36 million. Sony Ericsson, meanwhile, has been steadily picking up market share shipping 25 million in the quarter.
