Softbank of Japan is currently testing its femtocell technology. Femtocell is an alternative to fixed mobile technology or FMC architecture and has the advanctage of being a single-mode seamless technology instead of a dual mode one. FMC and spinoff technologies like femtocell use VoIP access to allow for cheaper mobile phone calls.
