In the midst of the iDay day frenzy, news of the iPhone’s closes rival, Chinese-manufacturer Meizu’s minOne M8 phone, has had its own frenzied circulation around the Web. Apparently a site, Negri Electronics, has posted an on-sale page for a 16GB version. Besides an apparently official list of the M8’s full specifications, the site also informs us that it will in stock beginning December 7 of this year.
PMPToday, a site focusing on the portable media player industry, had this write up about it, with an additional info via Meizu’s marketing department. More people pitched in what they knew about Negri Electronics (Meizume.com will clue you in further about the little scandal).
Now we’re not worried about people actually buying a Meizu iPhone clone for almost a thousand bucks. Heck, you can’t even sell the iPhone at eBay for its going price. What we’re worried about is that a classy phone like the M8, which just happens to look like the iPhone from the outside, whether intentionally or unintentionally, is going to suffer the ridicule of more than just Apple fans this time. The M8, after all, sounds like a good cheap phone with very high-end features: definitely worth your buck.
