Apple today announced an upgrade on iPhone’s previously announced battery life and a change of material for the screen. iPhone users from June 29 onwards won’t have to settle for 5 hours of talk time but instead enjoy 8 hours of calling. They will also get 7 full hours of video playback, 6 hours of Internet time, 24 hours of music and 250 hours or over 10 days of stand by.
“With 8 hours of talk time, and 24 hours of audio playback, iPhone’s battery life is longer than any other ‘Smartphone’ and even longer than most MP3 players,” Steve Jobs said. The Apple press release even had a comparison table to illustrate this fact, which includes the N95, the BlackBerry Curve, Samsung Blackjack and Treo 750.
Apple stocks went up 2.6 per cent on the day.
