Recently AT&T has launched a new international text package for consumers that wish to send international text messages at a lower rate than the standard pay per use rate.
Text messaging is a convenient & affordable way to keep in touch with friends & family living abroad: one can send text messages from the U.S. to over 140 countries.
The International Long Distance Text Messaging Package costs $9.99 per month for 100 text messages and does not include multimedia messages, which are still charged at the rate of 50 cents per message send and 25 cents receive for international messages. The overage charge for every message sent over the initial 100 is 20 cents per message, the same as pay per use rates for sending messages while receiving messages counts as a normal text message charged at 15 cents per message.
