You know a device is successful when Chinese clones for it begin appearing. The, Shine, LG’s next generation Chocolate model has a shiny metallic casing that would just be too expensive for the Chinese to imitate. Right. Well, sort of. The Diamond is the best Chinese clone of an original I have ever seen. It is wearing every inch of the original Shine and only comes at the very affordable price of $99.00. It’s also got he same 2.2″ QVGA screen, scroll wheel and even the touchpad is an exact copy, although the screen only becomes a mirror when you angle it so against the sun. This phone skimps on the camera with only a 1.3MP compared to the 2MP of the original Shine. LG has sent letters warning shops not to sell the copycat or face legal action.
