Philips Xenium NRG Supports AAA Batteries

Philips Xenium NRG AAAPhilips is the undisputed leader in long-life battery cells, and it’s on their best interest to develop devices that support their main product: dry cell batteries. Philips has announced three handset models months before, which all had the common characteristic of lasting longer on lithium batteries than most phones in the market.

But Philips has another trick up its sleeve. The Dutch company presents AAA BackuPower(TM) on its new Xenium NRG cellphone. The new Xenium has two sources of power, a lithium Ion battery and an ordinary dry cell battery. When the Xenium NRG’s lithium battery runs out and a quick power source is needed, users can go to a store and buy any brand of AAA battery, which provides approximately 3 hours of talk time. Philips of course recommends Energizer to ensure that the phone stays on for the maximum time possible.

Thin as it is, the Xenium NRG has a built-in slot for the AAA batteries. The AAA battery can be left in even while you are using the lithium ion battery. The AAA battery also recharges along with your regular cellphone battery when your cellphone is plugged in to an outlet.
