Nokia has introduced the 5700 XPressMusic Smartphone. The design is 3250-derived running on S60 Symbian OS with 3G connectivity. Like the 3250 twister, the 5700 is a music-centric smartphone with a dedicated audio chip.

“The Nokia 5700 XpressMusic adds a new twist to the mobile music experience with compatibility for tracks purchased from many Internet music stores,” says Heikki Norta, Senior Vice President, Mobile Phones, Nokia. “In addition the Nokia 5700 XpressMusic features a dedicated audio chip for improved music performance which consumers can further enhance by selecting from an ever increasing line of compatible audio enhancements.”
Other features of the Nokia 5700:
- video calling
- 2 MP camera
- microSD slot up to 2 GB (stores1500 songs)
- supports WMA, MP3, AAC; eAAC+ and MP4
It will be available Q4 at $460 pretax. How it will stack up against the Samsungs UpStage, we’ll find out later this year.
