Neonode N2 Video: Tough iPhone Competitor

If I’m going to pick a dark horse among all the handsets tapped as iPhone’s competition, it’s going to be this little Swedish gadget with an open system based on Windows CE.

The N2 fits inside your hand quite nicely at 47mm x 77mm x 14.7mm. There’s a touch screen phone smaller, but not with such a hi-tech multi-touch control. It’s 70 grams heavy and includes a video and music player and a 2 MP fixed-focus camera. The bad news s, though it’s a multi-touch functionality like the iPhone, the N2 uses an optical grid instead of a true touch screen. The inclusion of what Neonode makers call a WRR (Web Radio Recorder) allows user to record tracks from online radios (mobilegazette has more info) using a PC sync client.

The Neonode N2 is coming to Europeans Spring of this year and will cost 400 Euros.
