Sharp Announces Another Beautiful Japanese Pocket PC

emonesharpThis time it’s a pocket PC and it’s one of the prettiest I’ve ever seen. Back to front, QWERTY pulled out, the Sharp Em One Pocket PC is not bad-looking at all.

The specs are just as pretty, including HSDPA connectivity, a 4.1 touch-screen with 64k display boosted by nVidia GoForce 5500 graphics. Its a Windows Mobile 5.0 phone, an understated approach with Windows Mobile 6 already available. Processor is Marvell PXA270 at 520MHz with 128MB RAM or a notch or two below PC and laptop standards. The Em One has 512MB flash memory and a miniSD expansion slot, for a real sharp data storage.

Multimediawise, the Sharp Em One has an onboard 1.3 MP camera, which isn’t bad at all for a pocket PC. The rest of the onboard entertainment goodies are quite impressive: 1-Seg mobile TV, video and audio playback, stereo speakers come built-in. There’s bluetooth and Wi-Fi, all you can ask for connectivity. It costs about $800 in Japan or $332 with a two-year contract from a Wireless service company.
