Cameraphones reign supreme and the undisputed king of cameraphones is none other than the Sony Eriicsson K800 Cyber-Shot phone. James Bond’s phone isn’t only impressive on the big screen. Sony Ericsson has sold 4.5 million K800 since it was launched last year.
The k800 is also the first phone with a 3.2 camera and 3G connectivity and it looks like this combination caught the eye of both the masses as well as critics. With a lot of 3G phones released last year, among them Sony Ericsson’s closest rival in the world market Nokia releasing the N73, a 3G phone with similar camera pixel count, it’s quite an achievement to be chosen Best 3GSM Handset.
This is the second year in a row a Sony Ericsson handset won such an award. Anders Runevad, Corporate Executive Vice President and Head of Sales, Sony Ericsson said, “Our Cyber-shot portfolio has made true mobile imaging a reality for millions of people and we are very proud that the industry has endorsed our achievements with such a prestigious accolade.”
