Trying to ramp up sales before the iPhone’s June release date, Samsung comes out with the Ultra Edition 5.9. We’re pretty sure this super-slim phone won’t snap in two as Motorola would have us believe about the X820.
Any potential user viewing this phone on profile would nevertheless be filled with dread. A cellphone simply cannot get thinner. The next logical step, you would think, are cellphones that you can wrap around your wrist like a Patek Philippe.
There’s no official release date yet, but it’s not like this Samsung is going to add on weight. We can pretty much expect a wafer-thin phone less than a quarter of an inch thick. Specs include a 3.2 MP camera, video recording, MP3 playing, mobile TV, Bluetooth and 80MB of memory, all of which must have been magically crammed inside the Ultra Edition 5.9.
It’s due to come out in Europe around March.
